HHB Media Goes Behind the Scenes with the Filmmakers Bringing Their Stories to TRILLVISION

Independent film is at the heart of what makes a film festival exciting—and this summer, TRILLVISION Film Festival 2026 is bringing together filmmakers with unique voices, distinctive visions, and stories that deserve to be seen.

HHB Media is proud to spotlight three of the filmmakers whose work will be featured at this year’s festival with a special series of exclusive filmmaker interviews hosted by Ben Welch.

Michelle M. Charles & Ethan Hillel Baron — DEER

Director Michelle M. Charles and producer Ethan Hillel Baron bring audiences DEER, a silent horror short following a girl who runs for her life from a relentless Hunter.

In her first film festival appearance as a director, Charles draws on her extensive experience as an actress and acting coach to explore storytelling through performance, movement, emotion, and facial expression. The film has also been selected for the Lift-Off Global Network Sessions at Pinewood Studios in England.

In the HHB Media interview, Charles discusses her transition from acting to directing, while Baron shares insight into the production and creative collaboration behind DEER.

Ritisha Jhamb & Awo Mohamed — AirB’n’Boozled

HHB Media also catches up with Director Ritisha Jhamb and Producer Awo Mohamed about their short film AirB’n’Boozled.

Jhamb is a Vancouver-based actor and producer recognized for her high-energy performances and sharp comedic sensibility. Her work embraces bold, absurdist storytelling while challenging stereotypes and creating opportunities for women in comedy.

Hosted by Ben Welch, the interview explores the creative process behind AirB’n’Boozled, the filmmakers’ collaboration, and their approach to creating original comedy for today’s audiences.

Matthew Warner — The Three Brothers

Finally, HHB Media sits down with Matthew Warner, director of The Three Brothers.

Based in Virginia’s Shenandoah Valley, Warner is known primarily as a horror and fantasy writer with a love for the weird, humorous, and unexpected. His previous animated films include Couple’s Counseling and The Cryonic Pharaoh. Cinema Yugen has described him as “a rare breed of one-man studio.”

In his conversation with Ben Welch, Warner discusses his filmmaking journey, his creative influences, and the vision behind The Three Brothers.
